Dr. Ram Baran Yadav is the first President of Nepal. Yadav is a Physician by profession. He began his political career inspired by Nepali Political figures like B. P. Koirala, Ganesh Man Singh, Subarna Shamsher Rana when he was still studying to become a doctor in Kokatta of India. Yadav served as Minister of State for Health from the year 1991 to 1994. He was then elected to the House of Representatives at the 1999 election as a candidate and became General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Party. Later he served as the Minister of Health from 1999 to 2001.
