Sisne Himal reaches a staggering elevation of 5911 m. Nestles in Rukum District emerges as an imposing inland peak of the western expanse of the Dhaulagiri massif. It is one of the highest peaks in the western domain.

Sisne wears one more name, the Murkatta Himal in a local lore. According to a whimsical belief, Sisne had the potential to ascend into the heavens. The growth was so audacious that it could one day pierce and dismantle the celestial realm. Thus, one day the divine hand intervened, cleaving Sisne Himal into three distinct fragments. The crown of this ethereal entity metamorphosed into mighty Dhaulagiri, while its core and corpus melded into the collective identity of West Dhaulagiri and Central. Lastly, the remnants of this celestial undertaking transformed into the mountain's feet, grounding it in terrestrial splendor. The mountain’s identity further unfurls as Hiunchuli Patan, owing to a vast expanse of open terrain nestled at its base.

In the annals of history, the Sisne-Jaljala Campaign, colloquially known as the Si-Ja Campaign played out during the tumultuous years of the Maoist Civilian War, beckoning lands that caught even a glimpse of Sisne's towering form to forge a unified front against a common adversary. Sisne, standing as a steadfast sentinel, provided the rallying point. It was from this sanctuary that the seeds of unity were sown, blossoming into a movement interlaced with literature, music, and art.

The voices of bards and poets reverberated through the valleys, weaving sonnets and ballads that embroidered the significance of trekking, scaling, and venturing forth into Sisne's embrace.
